Michael Barkin, Co-Founder Stitch + Heart
Michael Barkin gets his energy from being around people. A sales person at his
core, Michael found his passion for leading people in 2006 when he first realized
what it was like to change someone’s thinking for the better. Since then,
Michael’s career priorities have centered around helping individuals get more out
of themselves than they would be able to on their own.
Michael was a co-founder and SVP of Sales at Trunk Club – a retail startup founded
in 2010 with the goal of creating a better way for men to shop. Michael started
the sales team as rep #1 and scaled and led a group of over 600 direct to
consumer sales reps in 7 different cities. Trunk Club was sold to Nordstrom (JWN)
in 2014 for $350 million. Prior to Trunk Club, Michael spent 7 years in sales and
sales leadership with the world’s largest manufacturer of custom made apparel.
In September 2018, Michael co-founded Stitch + Heart, a Chicago based apparel
startup created to raise money and awareness for cancer charities through the
purchase of men’s custom apparel. Stitch + Heart sells directly to end consumers
via a mobilized seller network and donates 10% of the retail transaction to the
cancer charity of the customer’s choice.
Outside of apparel, Michael serves as a Customer Experience Advisor to Lincoln
Motor Company (Ford) with a focus on retail transformation within the
automotive industry.
