Joshua Hollander, Director Health Solutions, FTI Consulting

Joshua Hollander’s organizational leadership and healthcare experience has spanned 20 years in the payer, provider, and non-profit settings. Dr. Hollander focuses on value-based care initiatives, innovative payment models, ACO and clinically integrated network development managed care contracting and provider engagement.


Prior to joining FTI, Dr. Hollander oversaw the launch of several CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield new commercial and Medicare Advantage Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) built in partnership with community-based health systems and clinically integrated networks. He led contracting while negotiating key terms including performance year trend targets, HEDIS quality measures, incentive structure, model design, exclusions, and risk caps. Dr. Hollander also used cost and utilization reporting to perform deep analytics and shared performance recommendations with ACO partners.


For over 5 years Dr. Hollander worked directly with providers and health system leadership implementing practice transformation strategies in value-based programs. Examples include analyzing specialist and hospital cost efficiency as it relates to modifying referral patterns, counter detailing and drug cost education to providers based on prescribing data, targeted patient access improvement opportunities, and provider engagement strategies.


Dr. Hollander has guided health systems with quality initiatives including a successful adoption of wide-scale third-party data integration allowing for more accurate quality reporting.  He also has broad payer experience which includes fee-for-service and value-based rate negotiations for large independent provider groups and health systems, special investigation unit research and planning, new insurance product development, collaboration with actuarial and data and informatics, provider education, and networks management.


Dr. Hollander holds a B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University and an M.B.A. from The George Washington University School of Business. He practiced chiropractic medicine for 10 years prior to FTI and is currently an Economics and Business Management instructor at WITS college in Baltimore, Maryland.
