Felicia W. Kent, Project Director, COVID-19 Advancing Health Literacy Project, Office of Mayor George Flaggs, Jr., City of Vicksburg, MS

Felicia Whittington Kent is the Project Director/Principal Investigator of the City of Vicksburg, Office of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen COVID-19 Advancing Health Literacy Project. This project is funded by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health under the Advancing Health Literacy (AHL) to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19 grant program. In her role, Ms. Kent contributes to reducing COVID-19 infections and develops content and strategy to drive community participation, promote changes in the health care delivery system, support population health behavior change, and prepares and implements health literacy intervention for vulnerable populations in the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Ms. Kent is an accomplished administrator with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare administration, federal grant projects, higher education, community and economic development, health disparities, and public health policy. She holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University.
